Fur sleeves, AKA gorilla arms, were a prominent trend during Fall Fashion Week 2009. It's a big fashion statement and at first I, like a lot of other fashion bloggers/reporters, was a little scared. But then I recently came across the photo above of a very young, very glamorous Bette Davis, wearing gorilla arms. It was a Eureka! moment as I finally understood the inspiration and if worn the right way this look is very glam. Below are some looks from the Fall 2009 RTW runways. the gorilla arm is an interesting nod to the eighties as well. the 2009 stuff is fierce...but nobody rocks the look better than the ultimate power bitch bette davis! thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeletei love it! i'm into arm accessories anyway so these look like a great way to change up a glam look. they'll also do a lot to emphasize narrow shoulders.
